Sweet Berry Farm

Yesterday morning we took the short drive out to Marble Falls to visit Sweet Berry Farms. What an amazing place this is! They had everything from hayrides, barrel rides, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, flower picking, scarecrow stuffing, corn mazes- really the list goes on and on!! What fun we had enjoying the fall day. Here's some of the fun activities we did:

This is a BIG one, can I pick it up?

This one is a little smaller....

Ok, forget these pumpkin things, I'm on to the next thing!

Now to goat feeding. Crew could really care less- he actually was a little scared of the goats.
Brett on the other hand, I think he fed the goats 4 bowls of food, ha!

Now on to the barrel ride. Crew LOVED this! He is way into tractors right now, and a tractor pulled the barrel train all around this big field.

Farmer LeRoy telling all the riders to get ready- trains about to take off.

And they're off!!

So much fun!

He came around the corner waving with a huge smile on his face-success!

You could fill a cup with fresh beautiful Texas flowers.

Walking through the tunnel (underneath the road) to get to the other side of the farm.

All kinds of fun things!
And if you know me, I am ADDICTED to candy corn this time of year.

Brett enjoying fresh grilled corn.

And Crew had to take a break for some snack time too!

How about taking the pumpkins for a boat ride?

CRAZY driver!

A boat FULL of pumpkins.

Crew is mildly OBSESSED with firetrucks after the Lake Travis Firefighters came to his school last week. They let all the kids into their truck and Crew has not stopped talking about it. They also taught them to "stop drop and roll" which Crew will demonstrate by rolling all over the room. Guess what we are going to be for Halloween (hint hint)???
BUT- he was in HEAVEN to get to see another firetruck and threw a fit when we had to leave, so we didn't get too many pumpkin patch pics.

This is AWESOME!!!

Look at all these buttons!

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins EVERYWHERE!

Horses were a big favorite- he loved to pet them!

Hayride time!

They had scarecrow scenes set up all along the hayride.
After the pumpkin patch we went to eat at River City Cafe on Lake Marble Falls.
Here is the gorgeous view from the deck- such a fun place with awesome food!
We had such a fun family day together!
Hope you all are enjoying fall as much as we are!

Chicago Weekend

I got back late Monday night from a long weekend in Chicago. I met my mom there, but flew in by myself. Grancie came in and watched Crew on Thursday and Friday. He had so much fun playing her! What a sweetie she was so spend her birthday watching Crew. (I'm sure she had a good nap that day, ha.) But- Happy Birthday Grancie, we LOVE you! Here's to many many more celebrations together. Brett watched him over the weekend, and then my dad came in and watched him on Monday. Thanks everyone for all the help!
I went to Chicago for my cousin Erin's bridal shower. Erin has since moved to California so she flew in for weekend as well. Erin is one of my closest cousins, I have so many wonderful memories of growing up together. We were those cousins who wanted to grow up and live in houses that stuck together, we cried every time we had to leave. She was a bridesmaid in our wedding and I am lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in her wedding in December. So, she had NO idea I was coming in for the weekend. On Friday afternoon, I rang the doorbell and her face just froze and she broke out into tears.
We had a great weekend! It was wonderful visiting and catching up with our family. Her finance's family threw a beautiful "fall" themed shower on Friday night. Saturday morning I went with Erin and my Aunt Mary to her dress fitting. Our family (my mom's side), threw her a "Irish" themed shower at an Irish pub that Saturday afternoon. Everything at both showers was so creative- such attention to detail. We spent Saturday night reminiscing and telling stories with our other cousins and aunts.
On Sunday, we had a very "special" meal. My mom's family is Italian, and their grandma always served "spaghetti on the board" as they were growing up. This tradition has since been passed down through the years. My aunt had the boards sanded and re stained and few years ago, so spaghetti on the board it was! Basically you just poor a large helping on spaghetti in the middle, and everyone takes their fork and scoots a portion over to eat. Easy enough!! It was so much fun!
Thanks everyone for a wonderful weekend. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful family.
Love you all!=)

Happy Birthday Grancie!
