Weekend Fun

The weather here has just been amazing for the last few weeks. It's definitely spring and we have been outside enjoying the sun. There's only a few short months before the 100 degree days start so we are making the most of it! On Friday we had our annual "Tea and Treasures" at my MOPS group. This is one one meeting of the year where someone at your table is in charge of "decorating" the table for this special meeting. Rachel and Lynn in my group did an amazing job, the table looked to awesome! And to top it off with a great speaker, it made for a good Friday morning. That night we enjoyed dinner out on the patio at a restaurant here in Lakeway while Crew played on the play scape. Saturday we spent the morning at the Austin Rodeo. Crew loved riding the ponies, petting the animals, watching a puppet/magic show, and of course riding tractors. We finished the night by again, another dinner out on a patio with some of our friends and their little girl.
Saturday we went to the park, and then did some yard work and put all new mulch down in our front yard. So, to say to least we are a bit exhausted today- but it really was wonderful to be able to enjoy so much family time and fun in the sun!=) Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

Austin Zoo

The weather in Austin has just been amazing! I decided we needed to do something outside to enjoy it, so Crew and I went to the zoo yesterday. The Austin Zoo is very different than any other zoo to say the least. It's very very small, not any paved sidewalks, parking lots, etc. Most of the animals are rescues, and they only have a few main exhibits. It is settled in the middle of the hill country to definitely gives a "wildlife" sort of feel. They have animals just walking around not in cages- peacocks, ducks, chickens roosters. If you know me, you know I am not really a fan of any of those, especially not in a cage. I guess my childhood side comes out and I still feel like they are "going to get me!" Well...apparently Crew inherited my gene... I decided to pick up some Chick Fil A and bring it out there so we could eat lunch (you can bring in food). We were almost finished when a group of chickens came over to join us. I started to panic but was trying to remain calm for Crew and continued eating. I held up the last of Crew's nugget and a chicken jumped up and ate it- directly from my hand. I screamed so loud, and Crew got so scared he was STANDING on the picnic table yelling "chickens get Crew" over and over and over! Poor thing! So, needless to say, that is the last time we will be bringing lunch to the zoo again.
But after the initial trauma he really enjoyed seeing all the animals. It was all he talked about ALL day long yesterday. He kept telling me his favorite animal was the GOATS, my guess is because he got to feed them? We had a fun day and will definitely go back again soon!

On the way there the Oak Hill fire department had their truck out with the huge ladder extended. We stopped to watch them for a few minutes and Crew LOVED it!

Ready for a train ride.

A BIG turtle.

Crew loved the tigers, he kept talking to them saying "how ya doin' tigers?"
And also saying, "Tigers need shampoo to take a bath."

His favorite- feeding the goats!

Rolly Pollies

Rolly Pollies is this awesome kids gym right by our house. It is Crew's FAVORITE place! They have a bounce house, foam pit, trampoline, balance beam, bars, zipline, etc...basically a kids paradise! There have been many of mornings where Crew wakes up and tells me "Lets go to Rolly Pollies today!" So, since it's Spring Break and yesterday was a rainy morning that is exactly what we did. They had open gym for a few hours and Crew had so much FUN!!! His friend Anabel was also there and they enjoyed playing together (and I enjoyed talking to her mommy and new baby brother just as much too)!

About to run on the LONG trampoline!

Rodeo Carnival

A few weeks ago we went to Houston for the night. The next day Preston invited Crew to his school's Rodeo Carnival. We had so much fun! The boys enjoyed riding ponies, decorating bags and hats, playing games, eating popcorn, and even riding a train! After the carnival we celebrated Amy's birthday with a yummy lunch at Brio. It is so fun that Amy and I grew up playing together, and now our little boys get to play together too! Thanks so much for such a special day!

Visit from the Idaho Cousins

We went to Dallas this past weekend to visit family. Brett's two cousins from Idaho came in to visit his Mamaw and they all came over for lunch on Saturday. It was so good to see everyone and so nice to spend time with the family. Only wished we all lived closer!
