Last weekend we went to check out the progress on our house. We dressed Crew in his "play clothes" and let him have fun. (Brett's mom bought him these rubber work-boots for him to wear out at the house and they are just perfect, thanks!) He could finally run around inside since all the drywall is up. But, his favorite part was playing in all the dirt and sand outside. He is definitely ALL BOY, no doubt about that! By the time we left the house, his pants were white, and hands and feet were filthy brown. At least we know he had fun=)!

Hill Country Home- Foundation
Well, after about 2 months of waiting, they finally started our Hill Country Home! Now after another month, the foundation is ALMOST complete. It has been such a learning process watching the building of the house (bringing back my good old days of architecture building systems- yikes!). Our house was on a bit of a slope, so we knew the foundation would be built up a little in the back- we had no idea our back foundation will be 10'-12' off the ground! Craziness! I guess our lot was more a slope than we thought! (But- it definetley enhances the view for us- we see right in the canyon now!) We will also have steps off the back patio down to the backyard- we will see how our dog Bella likes that! But, since it is so tall, they had to do 2 seperate pours of concrete for the foundation. The last pictures were taken last sunday and we have not been out there since. Hopefully they poured the final layer this week and they will start framing in the next week or so! This part seems to be going slow, but we were told that taller foundations add and extra week or 2 to the building process! I guess we are just anxious!! Will update more as it gets further along! Enjoy!

Hill Country Home!

Well, we finally found a place to live in Austin- yippee!!! After about 6 months of house hunting, looking at areas, etc, we have decided to build in the hill country! The neighborhood is called FalconHead West and it is right out in the midst of rolling hills and views. But the best part for me.. its only 5 minutes from shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and the Hill Country Galleria! (best of both worlds). We are also in Lake Travis ISD, and all the schools Crew will attend are exemplary! We could not be more excited for the building to begin!
We went out this weekend to check out our lot, and they had a sign on the bottom that said "Thank You Brett Carson", ha! Guess that makes it official, although there is no SOLD sign-ha. We have our first appointment on Friday to select interior finishes- wow, big choices ahead!! But, the house should be done by the end of March, beginning of April. We can't wait for visitors, so book your trip now- ha! (Oh.. and we are 5 minutes from Lake Travis so get ready for fun this summer!!)
