Colorado Trip

We just got back from a vacation to Silverthorne, Colorado. One my good friend's aunt and uncle have an amazing house there, and they graciously offered for us to come for a few days. We enjoyed the beautiful mountains and views, hikes, walks, gonodola rides, yummy dinners and desserts, smores, fly fishing (Brett), and even a snow day (in June- can you believe it?)

The mountains, lakes, and streams in Colorado just take your breathe away! I could not stop taking pictures. The boys tried to fly fish a few days, but they had so much snow this year, the rivers were really high and fast. They did manage to catch a few fish! The girls spent a day shopping in Breckenridge, and enjoyed the adorable boutiques.

Our favorite was riding the gondola up to the top of the mountain in Keystone. Crew loved the ride, he just kept staring out the window. Once we got to the top, he would not stop running and jumping in the snow (yes, there is still a ton of snow at the top). The view of the mountains and beautiful Lake Dillon is just breathtaking!
Now back to reality in good old 105 degree weather- hello Texas!!!

Lake Michigan Vacation

We just got back from a wonderful vacation in Michigan. My cousin Kate got married on Saturday so the whole Lattal family spent the week at the lake. We rented this amazing house, straight out of the Pottery Barn catalog, right on the beach. The house had 8 bedrooms and was ginormous (is that a word?), but really, we all had plenty of room. We enjoyed relaxing, bon-fires, cookouts, boat rides, shopping, and walking on the beach. Unfortunately a big cold front rolled in the night we got there, so it was a little too cold to swim at the beach, but, we did hike down (and up) the 220 stairs to the lake so Crew could play. He LOVED the sand (love is an understatement- we could not get him out!). He was wiggling his toes, throwing it, and did a face first nose dive just to try a bite and see how it tasted, yuk!

The wedding and reception were beautiful. Wishing years of love and happiness to the new White family!

After the wedding, we spent 2 nights in Chicago to visit my mom's side of the family. Crew had about 5 babysitters with all his cousins fighting over who could hold him and play with him, what fun!=)

What a nice little vacation, our only wish is that Brett could have been able to join us, we miss you!

(Sorry for the picture overload)
