Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, and were truely blessed to be able to celebrate with both sides of our family. On Wednesday night we traveled to Dallas (along with everyone else- the 3 hr drive took us 5 hrs!). We spent Thanksgiving day at Brett's mom's house.
Brett and I always make the pies for both our families dinners, and this year we decided to make the tradional (apple and pumpkin) along with trying a new one- sweet potatoe pie! This sweet pototo pie was on the cover of my Southern Living magazine and just looked fantastic! Brett made it all- even the merangue (he was so proud), and I have to say it was AWESOME- more people ate that than the pumpkin, so I think its our new tradition!
This was Crew's 1st Thanksgiving to actually enjoy the food and that he did! He even went for round 2 a few hours later! Yum Yum!
On Friday morning we headed to Katy to celebrate with my family. We enjoyed a nice ham dinner and all the fixin's for a second day in a row- yum!
We are so thankful for all our blessings and wonderful family!

Beyond Thankful

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

-Psalm 107:1

We have so much to be thankful for- Glory to God for ALL our gifts!

We are truely thankful for a loving Savior who helps us get through each day, my amazing husband, our healthy baby boy who brings us so much joy and laughter and the gift that I can stay home with him and enjoy each milestone, our supportive and loving familys, good health, good jobs, our new home- we can't wait for it to be done, food to eat, and the endless blessing we take forgranted each and everyday.

May you all have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

Crew's turkey handprint potholders for his grandparents.
He hated every minute of the craft and paint on his hands (must not take after his mommy-ha), but they turned out cute and are a wonderful keepsake!
I know the grandparents will LOVE them!

Toe Shoe's & Tutu's!

This past weekend I helped host a baby shower for my dear friend Kate. Kate and her husband Sie are expecting a baby girl, Helen Olivia in a few months. Once we found out it was a girl, PINK it was! We were trying to come up with a theme/inspiration for the shower and all that kept coming to my mind was "toe shoes and tutu's." Kate and I have been friends since elementary school and all through our lives it was dance dance dance! She would ride the bus home with me and my mom would take us to dance once/twice a week for as long as I could remember! Once we reached high school it was more dance- drill team! And in college, lets just say our dance skills helped us with a few rush skits and some fun date parties! Ha!

So, I decided the theme of the shower had to be "Toe Shoes and Tutu's" and it was definetly PINK! I helped with most of the decorations and had so much fun making tutu's and coming up with ideas! We never could have pulled it all together without all 8 wonderful hostesses and all their help!

I think the "glowing" mother really enjoyed the day- and we enjoyed getting to spoil her too!=)
Can't wait to meet sweet baby Helen!
(We only need one more thing- for the Soheili's to move back to Texas- we miss YOU!)
Invitation and all printables custom designed by mother in my law, Nancy Carson,

Kate's grandpa made this cradle and she slept in it as a baby.

Guests wrote advice for Kate, Sie, & baby Helen on little
"tutu's" with Helen's initials.
We tied the "tutu's" together and gave Kate a nice book to take home.

Florida Fun!

Last weekend we traveled to Coral Springs, Florida for my cousin's wedding! It was a wonderful weekend of warm weather, relaxing by the pool, enjoying family time, and of course celebrating the bride and groom! Everything was absolutely fabulous from a rehearsal dinner at a restaurant on the beach- to a PERFECT ceremony AND reception! Everything was just beautiful! And what a wonderful couple, we are so happy to welcome sweet Whitney to our family! Here are just a few pics from the weekend!
